{"id":5206,"date":"2026-03-12T16:42:51","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T16:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northernlights.education\/nllt\/?post_type=ir_news&#038;p=5206"},"modified":"2026-03-13T11:25:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T11:25:21","slug":"tilery-primary-becomes-12th-school-in-northern-lights","status":"publish","type":"ir_news","link":"https:\/\/northernlights.education\/nllt\/news\/tilery-primary-becomes-12th-school-in-northern-lights\/","title":{"rendered":"Tilery Primary becomes 12th school in Northern Lights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tilery Primary School in Stockton on Tees has joined Northern Lights Learning Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Northern Lights is a multi-academy trust now comprising 12 primary and secondary schools, community and Church of England schools in an area stretching from Teesside to Wearside including Ian Ramsey CE Academy in Stockton,\u00a0and with over 4,600 pupils across the Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited for this next chapter for our school,\u201d said Judy Stanyard, Headteacher at Tilery Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe feel Tilery can continue to grow, learn and share our areas of excellence to become the best school we can be. We believe that the Northern Lights\u2019 mantra of \u2018Shining Stronger Together\u2019 would enable our pupils to access more opportunities which can support not only academic success, but also successes within a wider community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jo Heaton OBE, Chief Executive of Northern Lights, welcomed Tilery Primary School into the Trust, which also comprises the DfE Northern Lights Teaching School Hub as well as the DfE Early Years Hub North East. \u201cOur mission is to ensure everyone flourishes, with children and young people at the heart of everything that we do,\u201d said Mrs Heaton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later this month, on 19 March, children from Tilery Primary School will join with other schools in Northern Lights to present \u201cOne Voice,\u201d an annual concert being performed for parents at Stockton\u2019s Globe Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firthmoor Primary School in Darlington joined the Trust in January. Other primary schools in Northern Lights are Benedict Biscop CE Academy, Sunderland; Dame Dorothy Primary School, Sunderland; Grange Primary School, Hartlepool; Hart Primary School, Hartlepool; Holley Park Academy, Washington; St Helen\u2019s Primary School, Hartlepool; and St Peter\u2019s Elwick CE Primary School, Hartlepool.
