
Shannon has worked in primary education for 13 years, with 12 of those dedicated to Early Years. She is deeply passionate about giving children the very best start in life and takes great joy in watching them grow, thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning.
She is committed to mobilising the use of evidence-informed practice to improve outcomes for children and families, ensuring approaches are grounded in research and proven impact. Shannon works closely within the community, using her skills and experience to mentor and support practitioners and childminders. Through rolling out playgroups and targeted initiatives, she shares knowledge, promotes engagement, and creates the best possible opportunities for children.
With a passion for the outdoors, Shannon champions outdoor learning and play as vital to children’s development and wellbeing. Alongside this, she supports early years settings across the North East to promote best practice, strengthen collaboration, and deliver consistently high-quality provision.
