Jo is committed to ensuring that every child in Northern Lights is receiving the best all round education. Equally, she is committed to system leadership and contributing to school improvement in the wider system beyond the trust.
Jo has worked as an executive headteacher of two schools and as a senior leader in a range of schools with a history of school improvement. As a National Leader of Education (NLE), Jo supports schools across the region together with delivering leadership training and coaching. She works with the Department for Education in a number of advisory activities and is a member of its expert advisory group for teacher recruitment and retention.
Jo is strategic lead for the Northern Lights Teaching School Hub and is proud of the professional development provided across the North East region to around 400 schools, helping teaching colleagues to impact positively on pupil outcomes.
She believes strongly in collaboration and works closely with a wide range of partners. Jo sits on the Durham Diocese Board of Education, she is a Schools North East T]trustee and is involved with a number of other strategic partnerships, including Schools’ Forum and the Children’s Services Committee. Jo is a practising Ofsted inspector.
