David has been working in secondary education for 33 years and became headteacher of Venerable Bede Academy in 2014. His vision is to ensure that, with the guidance and support of their families and teachers, all pupils are able to develop their individual talents and fulfil their lifelong goals. As a product of the English comprehensive system, David says he is a true children’s advocate, believing that it should be the goal in schools to enable pupils to thrive, instilling in them a thirst for knowledge and enabling them to understand how they play their own part in unlocking their true potential.
