Leanne is passionate about all aspects of inclusion, ensuring all children and young people have a positive school experience, where they access high quality education which meets their individual needs, have a sense of belonging and feel valued and listened to.
Leanne has worked in education since 2000, taking on a number of school leadership positions within this time including SENDCo and Deputy Headteacher, working in a number of schools, across multiple authorities. Her most recent role was as Headteacher, where she enjoyed this privileged position for 11 years, including a secondment as Interim Headteacher to support a local school.
Leanne has been actively involved in many networks during her career, and values partnership working to enable the best outcomes for all pupils. She has enjoyed frequent opportunities to engage in work related to SEND with partner agencies and has chaired (or co-chaired) Headteacher networks at a cluster and town wide level.
As well as a passion for inclusion, Leanne relishes opportunities to support others in their own leadership and professional development and she has engaged in the work of the Northern Lights Teaching School Hub, facilitating NPQH delivery and being a member of the Appropriate Body team.
