Rev. David Tolhurst

Dave has many years of governance experience serving both the Benedict Biscop CE Academy and the Venerable Bede CE Academy for over 10 years. Dave is an experienced chair of governors and has a knowledge and understanding of finance and chaired the finance committee for the Dayspring Trust before the merger. The Church of England’s role in education as part of its role in transforming lives and the lives of communities is a passion of Dave’s and a significant part of his ministry.

Dave is Vicar of Doxford & Silksworth, Area Dean of Wearmouth, a non-residentiary Canon of Durham Cathedral and a member of the Church of England’s General Synod.

Dave is married to Natalie, has a son Andrew and is a passionate supporter of Sunderland AFC and season card holder at the Stadium of Light.
